Case of the missing gold

THREE men accused of stealing two ounces of raw gold were yesterday afternoon released on $100,000 bail each by City Magistrate Fabayo Azore.Selwyn Croft, 46, of Lusignan, East Coast Demerara; Seyiel Boston of Vryheid’s Lust and 35-year old Ramdeo Persaud of Better Hope, all pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The particulars stated that between October 1 and November 20, 2015 at Cuyuni Backdam they stole the raw gold worth $480,000, property of Terry Singh.
Police Corporal Simone Payne prosecuting made no objection to the trio being granted their pretrial liberty. Bail was granted and the men are slated to return to court on December 7 before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
