GUYANESE Lennox ‘2 Sharp’ Allen became the USA New York State super middleweight champion following a seventh-round technical knockout (TKO) over previously undefeated Nick Brinson.Referee Ken Zimmer stopped the contest at two minutes 59 seconds of the round to hand the undefeated Allen his 13th professional victory. The heavy-handed Guyanese had his first professional bout in April 2004.
He knocked out Troy Lewis on debut and has not looked back since. At present the southpaw has racked up 20 wins and one draw. Thirteen of the victories came from stoppages.
‘2 Sharp’ fought three times this year winning all by knockout. He secured the vacant World Boxing Council, Caribbean Boxing Federation (CABOFE) title in 2011 following a unanimous 12-round decision over Kelsi Jones at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
However, Allen’s career had slowed thereafter with him having one fight in 2012 and a similar number in 2013.
