A WOMAN of Herstelling Sea Dam, East Bank Demerara, was yesterday afternoon found dead with suspected marks of violence about her body.The husband of 54-year-old Pamela Mootee has since been arrested by the police and is assisting them in their investigations. Police sources have indicated that the woman and the man were both alcoholics and the man was said to be in the habit of abusing her.
According to reports, the man told the police that earlier in the day he saw the woman lying in the area where she was found dead but did not take it for anything and went about his business as usual.
The police are awaiting a post-mortem to determine the cause of the woman’s death.
