No case against mother of two

CHIEF Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday dismissed a charge against a mother of two children, accused of trafficking in narcotics.Thirty-year-old Nadera Persaud was charged with possession of 25 grammes of cannabis-sativa (marijuana) for the purpose of trafficking, on Saturday, July 11 at her home, Lot 15 Norton Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown.
Attorney-at-law, Glenn Hanoman who represented Persaud , had stated that the illegal substance was concealed in a house which Persaud was occupying along with other people. To that extent he made a no-case submission.
Yesterday Chief Magistrate McLennan ruled that the court agreed with the no-case submission, since the prosecution had failed to prove the case beyond reasonable doubt against Persaud.
