EVEN as Miss World Guyana 2015, Lisa Punch, accelerates her Beauty with a Purpose “STAY ALIVE” campaign and prepares to represent Guyana on the international stage in China this December, the Miss World Guyana Organisation has begun its search for the next titleholder to represent Guyana in 2016.

The Board of Directors and the franchise holder of Miss World Guyana are anxious to meet Guyana’s next beauty ambassador.

Miss World Guyana expects this ambassador to be smart, beautiful, confident, and possessing demonstrated willing to make a difference in the lives of others and contribute to the development of Guyana.

Eligible young women are invited to attend the ‘Miss World-Guyana Tryout’ at the PS Media Building on 206 Charlotte Street, Georgetown, between Alexander and Camp streets, on November 14 at 10:00 hrs.

Application to the pageant must be made online at www.missworldguyana.gy before attending the ‘tryout’ on November 14. Details on eligibility and the Miss World-Guyana Organisation can be found online at www.missworldguyana.gy. Applicants must bring gym wear, appropriate shoes (high heels) and video clips of charity work and talent piece. If an applicant does not have video clips of her performing her talent piece, she will be asked to perform a one minute talent piece at the tryout.

The first Miss World Guyana title-holder was crowned on May 26, 1966. The pageant has since been held on May 26 every year to commemorate Guyana’s Independence. The organisation prides itself on ensuring that contestants embrace the true meaning of independence; that they live purposeful lives; that they seek peace, unity and empowerment. The Miss World pageant is one of the most recognised and publicised beauty contests in the world, and also boasts the largest number of participating countries.

The 2015 Miss World titleholder is expected to receive $10M in prizes among other gifts.
