DOCTORS at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) are battling round the clock to save the life and faculties of a newborn baby boy who fell off a cot at the Maternity Ward on Tuesday.Misfortune struck within an hour after the child was delivered, on November 3, a GPHC release said, calling the incident “unfortunate.”
Breaking the chilling news, the release said: “The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) wishes to inform the press of an unfortunate incident that occurred in the Maternity Ward. This incident involved a newborn male who was delivered on November 3, 2015 at the hospital and who, within an hour of his birth, fell off the cot on which he was placed.”
The release said that appropriate laboratory tests were conducted which revealed that the child suffered some injuries. However, his condition is being closely monitored and the matter is under investigation.
