Bolt’s seven minutes worth $20M

WORLD’S fastest man Usain Bolt did all his important work last year in just seven minutes, not bad for a man reported to earn US$20 million a year.A recent list compiled by French sports publication L’Équipe calculated the time which athletes spend competing each year in different sports.
The athletes selected for the study were Bolt, Teddy Riner (Olympic and world judo champion), LeBron James, Thierry Dusautoir (captain of the French rugby team), Lionel Messi and Thibaut Pinot (cyclist). Bolt, for whom a good day on the track involves finishing a race in under 10 seconds, predictably accumulated the least time.
At the other extreme is the FDJ cyclist and victor in the final stage of the Tour de France on Alpe d’Huez. Pinot has completed some 74 races over 73 days of competition, making for a total of 16 837 minutes.
Riner, for the most part, spends less than an hour on the mat (52 minutes), significantly less than the competitive minutes racked up by Dusautoir (2 270), James (3 337) and Messi (6 457).
The research, however, did not take into account the amount of time spent in training for the various sports. (Sportsmax.com)
