‘Rastaman’ found dead in house – at Exmouth, Essequibo Coast

A ‘Rastaman’ known as Roy was found dead in his house at Exmouth on the Essequibo Coast last Saturday morning.

According to reports, the ‘Rastaman’ who lived alone in a small house surrounded by thick vegetation was discovered dead by a resident after a foul smell was coming from the house which is not far from the public road.

The police were informed and the swollen body  of ‘Rastaman’, who is believed to be in his late fifties, was removed to the Suddie Funeral Home.

A post-mortem is to  be performed to determine the cause of death, and police investigations are in progress.
‘Rastaman’ who was well known by residents would walk the public road early in the  morning with a cutlass on his shoulder. He was said to be a peaceful man who cared for the fruit trees and voluntarily cleaned the drainage trench in front of where he lived every month. His only known relative is said to be overseas. (Prabhulall)
