Miss Youth Ambassador Pageant slated for tomorrow

THE Central Georgetown Police Youth group, in collaboration with the Guyana Police Force (‘A’ Division), would be holding a Ms. Youth Ambassador pageant tomorrow evening commencing at 18:00hrs at the St. Stanislaus College foyer. The delegates were selected from the youth groups under the auspices of Commissioner of Police Mr. Seelal Persaud, and were guided by Commander of ‘A’ Division, Clifton Hicken.

This group, like the Guyana Police Force, believes that in order to avert the local and global social pandemic of teenage pregnancy, high school dropouts, suicide and domestic violence, it is evident that young women should be empowered.

The objective of this pageant is to provide each young woman with the opportunity to gain the ability, authority and agency to make decisions and implement change in her own life and the lives of other people, specifically youth and adults.

The launch of the Miss Youth Ambassador project specifically focuses on young women between the ages of fourteen and seventeen.
