RON ‘Andel’ Forde, who was arrested on Sunday at Wismar, Linden, was yesterday brought before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for the alleged murder of transgender sex worker Nephi Noel.Forde, 37 years, of Lot 31 Rahaman’s Park, East Bank Demerara was not required to plead to the charge which alleged that on July 22 at Carmichael and Quamina Streets, Georgetown, he

murdered 20-year-old Noel.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones did not relate the facts to the court, because the investigation is still incomplete. The matter was adjourned until August 21, while the unrepresented Forde was remanded.
Forde was arrested after wanted bulletins were issued for two suspects in connection with the shooting death of the transgender sex worker Noel. However, the other suspect, Kanand Ojha, remains at large.
Noel, of Lot ZZ D’ Urban Street, Wortmanville, was gunned down by one of two men on July 22, 2015 at about 02:35 hrs, while plying his trade in the downtown area of Carmichael Street in Georgetown. He was shot once to the chest when confronted by the duo during an argument over a paid transaction.
Reports are that a male client had earlier visited the transgender sex worker for a paid sexual encounter, but was apparently not satisfied with the services and had returned to Noel.
Dissatisfied with the response, the client returned with another man, who reportedly shot Noel dead before fleeing the scene in a sports utility vehicle. Noel was conveyed to the GPH where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
