TWENTY-nine students have graduated after completing a one-year training programme through the Board of Industrial Training, Ministry of Labour, Human Services and Social Security.According to reports, the training programme prepared students to work in such fields as clerical office practice, community health practice, mechanic, medical laboratory assistant, medical

records, nurse aide, pharmacist, videography, welding and fabrication.
The training was done under the theme: National Training Project for Youth Empowerment.
Coordinator of the training programme on the Essequibo Coast, Mr Mohamed Shaheed said students were accommodated in the various departments of the Regional Administration where they were trained during the one-year period. Mr Shaheed thanked the graduands for taking up the challenge to be trained so as to enter the world of work.

Senior personnel officer in the Region Two Administration, Ms Gaitree said youths are playing a major role in society and training to enter the world of work is very important. She said the Administration is willing to accommodate persons in all departments to undergo training.
Regional Executive Officer Mr Sunil Singh in his address said graduation is not the end of life because persons will have to move on from being trainees to higher positions. He said a job comes with responsibility because whatever the worker does will have an impact on the next worker in line.
