THE ‘Marble Slab Creamery’ officially opened its doors to the public at its location situated alongside the Footsteps mega-store on America Street in downtown Georgetown yesterday. The new dessert entity has proven to be ideal for Guyana, given the overwhelmingly positive responses from the public. Thus its aim of offering the Guyanese public a wide array of top quality ice-cream is very achievable.

Marble Slab Creamery has been birthed by the Managing Director of Gravity Lounge, Navin Singh, after noticing the limitations of the dessert industry in Guyana. He explained that, after much success with Gravity, he felt there was need for a dessert entity and, as such, he began researching franchises and thus discovered Marble Slab Creamery.
Prior to the opening of Marble Slab Creamery, Singh took friends, family members and media operatives on a tour and menu sampling exercise last Friday, followed by a ‘slow’ opening on Saturday, which reportedly attracted hundreds of Guyanese.
Given the robust competition in the dessert industry, with competitors like Brusters and Dairy Queen, Singh noted that Marble Slab Creamery will offer more than just the best customer service; it holds approximately 70 flavours along with 13 different toppings, which will rotate every week.
Marble Slab Creamery has been serving chef-created, super-premium and hand-mixed ice creams since 1983. Every batch of Marble Slab Creamery ice-cream has been freshly made in small batches in the store, using ingredients from around the world and dairy from local farms.
Marble Slab Creamery products are today enjoyed by consumers across the globe, and are obtainable at locations in Bahrain, Canada, Guam, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mexico, Oman, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, the United States, and now Guyana.
Gravity’s portfolio is, however, on the verge of expanding so that Guyana can be among the best in the food and entertainment industry. (Shivanie Sugrim)
