A TWENTY-six-year-old mother of two children, aged three and five, Quineza Particia Benn, of Charity on the Essequibo Coast was found dead early yesterday morning on the parapet of Forbes Street.
According to reports, the woman who was wearing a blue jeans and purple top was discovered in some grasses on the parapet by some persons who were walking along the street. Reports said her body bore several marks of violence and her mouth was burst. She also had injuries at the back of her head.
Reports said the woman and a man were living in a common-law relationship, which was very violent and abusive according to residents in the area. Her common-law husband was taken into police custody.
Police, who arrived at the scene promptly, removed the body to the Suddie funeral parlour. A post-morten is expected to be performed on the body to determine the cause of death.
Police investigations are in progress.
