Hotel clerk fined for possession of ganja

KERWIN Prescott on Friday appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, charged with trafficking in narcotics.

Prescott, who is a desk clerk at the K&VC Hotel, South Road, Georgetown, pleaded guilty to the charge which was read by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
The particulars of the offence alleged that on January 15 at Wortmanville, Georgetown, he had in his possession six grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
He was fined $3,000 and ordered to do six months of community service at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
