CRIME Chief Leslie James yesterday disclosed that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Police Headquarters, Eve Leary, Georgetown, has received DNA samples from Brazil.

Samples were taken from a headless body which was in an advanced state of decomposition and which was discovered on September 23, 2014, aback Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara. The body is believed to be that of former MFK Trading boss Mohamed F. Khan, but it is yet to be confirmed.
The remains were found a month after he disappeared while on a visit to Guyana from Venezuela to conduct business.
The samples were sent to Brazil for DNA testing to determine whether the body was that of Khan.
Khan, 54, had fled Guyana and sold his Hadfield Street business after his life was threatened and during a visit to Guyana in July 9, 2014, he was shot and injured by a lone gunman at La Grange, West Bank Demerara.
He was last heard from on August 21, 2014, after he left his wife and children for Guyana and is still missing.
The skull which was wrapped in a plastic bag was found several feet from the skeletal remains of the unidentified man.
