THE Enterprise Youth Development Group (EYDG) recently held its annual Christmas Party for youths in their neighbourhood. The event, which was held at Auntie Uma’s residence in Enterprise, saw over 300 children being treated to a sumptuous lunch, replete with ice-cream and Jello, finger foods, cake and sweets and a gift from Santa.
The children also had a chance to participate in novelty games and carol singing, and to learn about the story of Christmas and its origins.
According to one EYDP member, “We are very heartened to see the children having a lovely time at the party. Seeing that Christmas is the favourite time of year for every child, it’s therefore best to celebrate it with them.”
Another said, “It’s a period when you share with children, and we always feel fulfilled when I doing this. As a group of youngsters wanting to create a change, we kindled the festive spirit last year; but this year, we are keeping it alive.”
Also present at the party were Mr. & Mrs. Rickheeram, Uncle Flattie and many others who came in from the United States to make it the success it was.
Among other contributors were Azeela Top Brands; Pennsylvania Association for Women and Children (USA); The Region Four Regional Democratic Office; Food For the Poor; RP Construction Service; Raj Tribhuwans Foundation; and Navin Deokission Construction.
