After hectic and tiring clean up, the decorating and fixing away is done. Sorrell drink and Ginger Beer have both taken their permanent place in the Christmas line up.
Black cake fills the house with its rich enticing aroma. There is sponge cake well prepared but not as alluring.
Garlic Pork simmers in a large pot. Pepper Pot sleeps, waiting to become the centre of attraction.
Cook-up of richness unimaginable has already been cooked. Golden delicious fried chicken with its cousins backed chicken are ever present.
Crème’ Liqueur’ waits patiently on the unsuspecting, and Ham without which Christmas would be bland, sits supreme above them all.
Carols flood the airways. Toys and excited children deafens, and lights and decorations transforms.
As usual we have bought tons of stuff some we never use. We have cooked heaps of food even though we know we would be unable to eat it all. (Just in case someone unexpected pops by). Drinks are in abundance. For a few, alcohol is like lighting a short fuse.
This season brings out the drunken masters.
We sometimes grab what we can. We sense that after the holidays, bills will catch up with us. Then it’s back to square one.
On to the next Christmas season!
PEACE AND GOODWILLTO ALL
GOD BLESS
