CG motorcycle bandits cart off G$.5M

A CONTRACTOR attached to Woodlands Hospital last evening had his vehicle broken into and a bag containing $500,000 was snatched from it by one of two bandits who showed up on a CG Honda motorcycle.The incident occurred just in front of the Woodlands Hospital on Carmichael Street, Georgetown seconds after the man entered the hospital to meet with his employer.
Speaking with this publication, Garanda Bhagraty, the contractor who is also known as “Brother” said that he collected the money during the week to carry out works on the home a doctor who works at the Woodlands Hospital.
The man said that just before the car was broken into, he had locked it before going into the hospital compound. However, just about two seconds later the security guard told him what had happened. The bandits shattered the front window on the passenger side of the vehicle and removed the bag containing the cash.
Persons in the area said that the incident happened so fast that they could not even record the number plate of the motorcycle.
One woman said that she was sitting with her children when the men rode up. They stopped the motorcycle in front of her home and the pillion rider went to the car and used a lug spanner to shatter the window before grabbing the bag with money.
She said that he placed the bag in front of him before mounting the bike and then they made good their escape. The police were called to the scene and a statement was taken from the victim.
