Albion to clash with Rose Hall Town in historic 50-over final under lights tomorrow

THE Albion Sports Complex is associated with history as the ground hosted the first-ever one-day international to be played in the West Indies.

Come tomorrow, history is again in the making as the Berbice Cricket Board will, for the first time, host a first division final under floodlights when arch rivals Albion CC tackle Rose Hall Town Gismos and Gadgets in the final of the Berbice River Bridge first division 50-overs final. The match will start at 14:00hrs.
The Berbice Cricket Board and The Berbice Chambers partnered in the past to host the Guyana Independence T20 Cup under artificial lights and David Armogan, Regional Chairman, Region 6 witnessed the events and then made strong representations to Central Government and finally the lights are here.
The lights were supplied by Musco Lights of the USA at a cost of close to $100M. A committee, headed by BCB First vice-president Anil Beharry, was recently formed to run the lights in a professional manner.
The Berbice Cricket Board would like to thank the Regional Chairman and the Government of Guyana for the installation of the international quality floodlights and is certain that it will make a difference in the lives of all.
