BCB/BBC semi-finals bowl off tomorrow

… Carib Beer T20 starts today

FIRST Division cricketers in the Ancient County of Berbice are in for a busy weekend from today, as several matches in two different competitions are scheduled for the next two days, including the Berbice Cricket Board/Berbice River Bridge Company 50 overs semifinals.The action will commence today with the opening round of matches in the BCB/Ansa McAl Limited Carib Beer T20 competition, with five first-round matches.
This competition will be played on a round-robin basis in three zones, namely West Berbice, Canje/New Amsterdam/East Bank and Corentyne and after the preliminary rounds the top two teams from each zone will advance to the play-offs.
In the West Berbice zone, Blairmont Community Centre will take on West Berbice at Blairmont and Bush Lot Rising Star will tackle D’Edward at Bush Lot, while in the Canje/New Amsterdam/East Bank zone, Young Warriors are down to play Universal Solutions Bermine at Cumberland and Edinburgh will have home advantage against Police.
In the Corentyne zone, Port Mourant will trade skills with Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets at Port Mourant, while the boys from Skeldon have drawn the bye. All matches are scheduled to start at 13:30hrs.
Also on for today is the second round BCB/BRBC 50 overs-a-side fixture wherein Albion will be hosting GuyTrac Upper Corentyne at Albion in a rescheduled fixture, with the winner playing Port Mourant at Port Mourant tomorrow in one semifinal, while the other semifinal will pit RHT Gizmos and Gadgets against Universal Solutions Bermine at Albion.
