BANK of Nova Scotia (Scotia Bank) recently launched a promotion dubbed “Scotia Bank Business Plan Writer,” where one lucky winner will get a whopping $300,000 to invest in a business idea.

Eligible persons could submit a business plan using Scotia Bank’s free Business Plan Writer tool which can be accessed by visiting the bank’s website at http//www.scotiabank.com and clicking on the tools and resources link under the small business tab.
Entries can be submitted via email or hard copy to Scotia Bank’s Marketing manager Ms Jennifer Cipriani, email jennifercipriani@scotiabank.com or addressed to the Marketing Manager Scotiabank, 63 Robb Street, Georgetown.
By going through the process, the successful person will have an opportunity to consider the right work-life balance for them.
According to Scotia Bank’s information brochure on the competition, “Your business plan will also become a user-friendly guide for employees, investors, suppliers, and advisors, and a tool to measure your business’ progress and plan for future staffing and financing.”
Rules and Regulations
This competition is open to Guyanese residents 18 years and older, who are interested in starting a business as well as existing small business owners who want to expand their businesses.
Businesses should have no more than 20 employees with an average gross annual revenue of no more than $60M.
Total investment should be between $5M and $50M.
Judging will be done by an independent panel comprising of successful business owners and Scotia Bank’s banking officers.
The submissions will be evaluated based on the overall feasibility of the plan.
All entries must be submitted by October 20, 2014, and the winner will be notified by November 1, 2014.
