THE Rotary Club of Demerara, in collaboration with health officials from Region 10 (Upper Demerara/ Upper Berbice) conducted a medical outreach in the community of Malali, along the Demerara River,last Sunday.

It was the club’s first for the new year and 115 of the 230 residents got an early opportunity to see paediatric, dental, orthopaedic and ophthalmology doctors and general practitioners.
In the visiting team were social workers, nutritionists and rotaractors who also attended to persons.
The Rotary Club of Demerara, for all its 20 years providing service to communities, has gained a reputation for rolling out medical outreaches to distant places such as Malali.
As part of this most recent venture, the club also donated clothing which was handed over to the Headmistress, Ms. Josephine Ashby.
The next outreach is planned for March.
