THE Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) said efforts are being made to retrieve the body of Ryan Brown, 34, of Bartica, Essequibo River, in the wake of reports that he fell into the Mazaruni River at an area called Itakie Falls and is missing.

According to information received at approximately 10:00hrs on Sunday, Brown was attempting to secure a boat to a nearby rock when he slipped into the water and went under. The boat was proceding up-river to Seamang with a consignment of cargo.
