LEROY John, called ‘Satan’, is in police custody for the alleged murder of his reputed wife, Judith D’Oliviera.Reports said the woman who is a mother of three children was reported missing since December 26, Boxing Day, and her nude body was discovered in an advanced stage of decomposition by relatives in a clump of bushes near the Dredge Creek Health Centre in the Lower Pomeroon River at around 10:30 hrs on Monday.
According to reports, the woman who suffered from a nervous breakdown had lived with the suspect for some two years in a common-law relationship. Some persons have said that the woman was constantly abused and beaten by ‘Satan’ who would forcefully take away her money.
Relatives believe that Judith who has a son in the United States and two other children, aged 19 and 11, was murdered since Boxing Day and her body dumped in the bushes.
Her reputed husband ‘Satan’ was taken into custody at the Charity Police Station when relatives earlier reported her missing but he was subsequently released. He was again taken into custody Monday when the gruesome discovery was made of the badly decomposed body in the bushes which was positively identified as that of his common-law wife Judith D’Oliviera.
The body is currently awaiting a post-mortem.
