Georgetown property owners urged to settle their accounts at City Hall

THE Georgetown Mayor and City Council (M&CC) is encouraging all property owners to ensure the integrity of their accounts at City Hall. It is their civic obligation to the city.

The Council is calling on all ratepayers to pay their rates to the M&CC. It is vital to the provision of core municipal services such as drainage, garbage collection and disposal, roads, street lighting, public health services and environmental services, markets, enforcement of the city’s building code and maternal and child welfare. As it now stands, the municipality needs every cent to perform those health and environmental services that would secure the safety of the city and its citizens.
The rates due in respect of a general rate shall be payable in four equal instalments which shall become due on the first day of February or on the day of service of the demand note, whichever day is later, the first day of April and the first day of October.
