One of two brothers is responsible for the attack on Benjamin but both men have since disappeared and gone into hiding.
Police said Benjamin, 24, of Lot 131 King Edward Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, was killed at about 10:00 hrs in front his home.
Investigations, so far, revealed that he and another man had an altercation, after which the brother of the latter confronted Benjamin and fatally stabbed him.
The wounded man was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).
Neighbours, who live in the upper flat of the building where Benjamin was a tenant, said they are unsure what started the quarrel and did not see the wounding, because it was after it happened that they came out.
One said Benjamin suffered multiple stabs and collapsed and died on Independence Boulevard (Punt Trench Dam), a short distance from where he lived.
Benjamin was a Muslim and lived alone in an apartment while the suspect brothers were resident a few houses away.
