Cell Phone Shack and Bakewell continue relationship with K&S Organization

FOR THE PAST 11 years, Cell Phone Shack of North Road in Georgetown and New Amsterdam, Berbice, have partnered with the Kashif and Shangai Organization’s annual end of year football extravaganza, wherein they have been distributing prizes in the form of cell phones to lucky spectators. This year, with the 24th edition of the tournament being played amongst the 24 top secondary schools from this year’s edition of the Digicel sponsored nationwide Inter-Secondary School Football tournament, 12 lucky patrons will receive a cell phone with entry to the games.
In his brief comments prior to the handing over ceremony which was held on Wednesday last at his North Road business entity, Managing Director of Cell Phone Shack, Christopher Low-Koan, said he sees the gesture as a way of giving back to the community.
“We have been supporting this tournament for the past 11 years and will continue to do so, this time we will be giving a quality cell phone to one lucky patron at every venue at which the tournament will be played, and we also will be providing the trophy for the player who scores the most goals,” said Low-Koan.
In accepting the generous offer from Low-Koan, Co-Director of the K&S Organization, Aubrey ‘Shangai’ Major, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the dynamic organization, adding that even though this year’s tournament is not being played amongst the clubs, they will be doing their utmost to make it a successful one, despite the challenges.
Meanwhile, Bakewell yesterday took the time to hand over sponsorship for school children to witness two days of action in Linden and on the East Coast free of cost, by purchasing tickets for this year’s tournament.
Director Kashif Muhammad said the Company has been associated with his Organization for the past 15 years and yesterday was a wonderful feeling, when they extended their generosity to this year’s tournament in the interest of the sport, after accepting the sponsorship from General Manager of Bakewell, Rajendranauth Ganga.
“Bakewell has been with the K&S tournament for over 15 years and with them coming on board yet again, making it possible for the tournament to be free for school children up to the semi-finals, we are indeed happy. However, it is our hope to announce before the start of the tournament, that the entire tournament is free for school children across Guyana,” said Muhammad.
