Caribbean Cargo DC joins forces with 24th K&S Tournament

A MERE 48 hours after they launched their 24th edition of their annual Christmas tournament, this year being an Inter-School one, the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation has garnered support from Caribbean Cargo DC.
Chief Executive Officer of Caribbean Cargo, Royston DeSouza, said he was told about the Organisation and their quality and professional approach in promoting sports and cultural activities in Guyana and the National Award the Organisation received from the Government of Guyana for their 23 consecutive years of football tournament.“I was introduced to Aubrey “Shanghai” Major this morning (Saturday Nov 2, 2013) by our Customer Service Representative Earl “Sleepy” Paul and was delighted when I heard of the Organisation’s plans for the 24th edition of their tournament.
Caribbean Cargo D.C. is truly a Caribbean shipping company and we are now beginning to increase our presence in Guyana and after meeting with Major and he told me about the idea of the school Championship in Guyana, I immediately went after it, because I think that it is the best idea for development for football in Guyana,” said DeSouza.
Caribbean Cargo will be making a donation of two desktop computers to the two Linden schools that reach the furthest in the tournament, along with a quantity of footballs for the tournament and an undisclosed sum to assist in the tournament preparation.
“Caribbean Cargo DC would like to take this opportunity to wish the Kashif and Shanghai Organisation, the Ministry of Education and all the participating schools, every success and may the best School win. We have made a commitment to the Organisers for next year’s tournament in a much bigger way as we will place the tournament into our budget.”
The tournament, which will kick off on December 8 and culminate on January 1, 2014 with a grand final and third place playoff at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence, will see the top eight schools that competed in this year’s Digicel sponsored nationwide school tournament battling for a first place prize of $1.2M.
