International boxing body AIBA last week handed over a computerized scoring system to the Guyana Boxing Association. The AIBA Scoring System was developed by Swiss Timing, the official timing company of the International Olympic Committee and is designed to ensure fair play and transparency in amateur boxing.
GBA president Steve Ninvalle said that the system would be “immediately” put into use as the National Open and Champion of Champions competitions are just around the corner.
He also informed that GBA has planned a seminar for referees and judges for today at the Andrew Lewis gym in Albouystown.
There, the officials would be made cognisant of the operations of the system which is based on a ten point Must-System.
