… All Season Pick Up and COURTS also on board
THE CORPORATION ZONES in the F&H Printing Establishment Countrywide dominoes competition continue today at the F&H 90 John Street Campbellville business location, with semi-finals and final for Zone Five, while sixth and seventh round matches are also expected to commence among teams such as CARICOM, NIS, Mings Product and Services, GPL, Banks, among others.
Corporations are asked to note that all remaining corporation matches will be played at F&H every Wednesday and Friday, respectively, beginning today 18:00hrs and the organisers are encouraging teams to register early since there are only three weeks remaining, with a cut-off date being set for November 13, since preparations have to be made for the playoffs, with teams being registered before November 7.
Last Friday, the semi-finals and final of Zone Four were completed at the same location and in the semi-finals, Caribbean Container Inc. acquired 81 games with All Season Pick Up second on 73 games and one of the Guyana Police Force team in the cellar with 64 games.
R. Wray, S. Ragoonauth and K. Parsram made 17, 16 and 15 games, respectively for Caribbean Container Inc. D. Bennett and F. Seaforth of All Season Pick Up chalked up 17 and 15 games respectively, while GPF’s highest score of 14 games was made by P. Howard.
The lovebirds were B. David and K. Dudnauth of the victorious Caribbean Containers Inc. team, M. Persaud of All Season Pick Up and G. Calder and C. Phillips of the Guyana Police Force respectively.
The final was then contested between All Season Pick-Up, Mayor and City Council (M&CC) and Caribbean Container Inc. which M& CC won outright with 81 games, followed by All Season Pick-Up with 75 games and Container Inc. in the cellar with 73 games.
C. Cadogan and S. Paul of M&CC scored 15 and 14 games respectively, while M. Persaud of All Season Pick Up made 16 games and B. David of Caribbean Container Inc. made 16 games and he was supported by S. Ragoonauth and K. Dudnauth with 14 games each.
Qualifying teams from the Corporations and external zones, already making it to the playoffs set for November 15, 16 and 17 at the National Gymnasium on Mandela Avenue are Gangster, Mix-Up, Republic Bank, KTS, Guyana Gold Fields, Ministry of Health, Phantom, Providence Sports Club, C7, Delta Force, Assassins, Scramblers, M&CC and All Season Pick Up, while a total of 60 teams are expected to make the playoffs.
Meanwhile All Season Pick Up have decided to sponsor all trophies for the tournament, while COURTS (Guyana) Inc. are expected to sponsor the jerseys for the playoff segment and the organisers wish to express their appreciation for the support, since this augurs well for the sustainability for the event.
