ANSA McAL Trading Ltd (AMTL) designated last Friday “PINK Friday” in support of the fight against breast cancer.
The company showed its support for the fight against this deadly disease by donating towards the cause and by having its employees reporting for work in various shades of pink.
AMTL Managing Director, Beverley Harper, handed over the donation cheque to the Periwinkle Club’s Public Relations Officer, Ms. Andrea Joseph, who expressed the club’s appreciation for the support and promised that cancer victims would benefit from the donation.
Joseph informed that the Periwinkle Club was formed in 2006 to assist cancer survivors, sensitize the public to the risks of cancer, and raise awareness regarding the methods of detection and prevention of the deadly disease.
Harper said that AMTL was pleased to donate towards the fight against breast cancer, and encouraged everyone to have regular checkups. She promised that the donation would be annual, because she understands the importance of early detection.
She also said the initiative was that of Marketing Director Troy Cadogan, and noted that the donation was not only from the company, but also from the staff.
Harper also noted that AMTL would be starting a Cancer Fund wherein the company and its staff would donate towards the fight against breast cancer. That fund would be used to assist any staff or their family member(s) who are affected by cancer.
