A MAN from Hampton Court on the Essequibo Coast, who is accused of cracking the skull of another after an argument over money, was remanded to prison on Wednesday.
Keshen Jagdeshwar, 27, of Lot 32 Hampton Court, faced an indictable charge of felonious wounding, before Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
It is alleged that, on October 21, at Port Kaituma, North West District, he feloniously wounded Joseph Moore with the intention to maim, disfigure, disable or cause him grievous bodily harm.
Sergeant Ramsahoye Rambajue, prosecuting, said Jagdeshwar confronted Moore at 15:00 hrs that day to make enquiries about money he owed him.
The two men became involved in a heated argument and Jagdeshwar picked up a cutlass and dealt Moore a chop on his head.
The Prosecutor said the medical report from Port Kaituma Hospital, where the injured man was examined, said Moore suffered a deep laceration with possible skull fracture to his upper occipital scalp.
The accused will have to remain incarcerated until
November 5.
