DIGICEL Guyana made a presentation to Lifeline Counselling Services on Wednesday, in support of its annual Phillip Vanderhyden Walk-A-Thon.

Digicel’s Events and Sponsorship Manager, Mr. Gavin Hope, who officiated on the occasion, said, over the years, his company has developed a good relationship with Lifeline Counselling and is in support of its work, especially in the services provided for persons living with and affected by HIV/AIDS for which care and treatment are in the forefront.
He said the donation is of cash and kind and Digicel will, continue to be supportive, this year, as well.
Speaking on behalf of Lifeline, Executive Director, Ms. Gloria Joseph said the gift is, indeed, welcome and lauded Digicel Guyana for the gesture which is solely for the Phillip Vanderhyden Walk-A-Thon 2013.
With the theme ‘Getting to Zero’, it is to be staged tomorrow from 06:00 hrs, starting at the Bank of Guyana and ending in the National Park.
She added that the walk is to promote prevention and increase greater awareness of HIV/AIDS in Guyana.
Joseph said Digicel has provided tee-shirts for the event and is paying for the public address (PA) system that will be used during the walk.
