LABA invites affiliate clubs to special meeting

A SPECIAL members meeting has been called by the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) for its affiliated clubs – Kings, Retrieve Raiders, Amelia’s Ward Jets, Block 22 Flames, Victory Valley Royals, Wismar Pistons and Bankers Trust Falcons – that will deal with issues surrounding the six-year suspension of national forward Dwayne ‘Brown Sugar‘ Roberts.Other related issues to that suspension will also be addressed, says LABA in a release. The meeting at the Mackenzie Sports Club Lounge starts at 20.00hrs tomorrow and all the clubs are asked to send two representatives who are listed on their roster of membership with the association.

It is felt that this meeting will look at the reasons behind the actions of the association and the response it got from the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) and for which there is an apparent fallout between the governing Federation which has suspended the association, and the regional Linden body concerning what has taken place.
