ON a usually calm Sunday where road traffic should be nothing more than a cruise, apparent reckless driving at Fort Canje along the Corentyne Highway lead to a Toyota IST car (PPP 9598) ramming into a truck (GMM 5171).

When the Guyana Chronicle visited the desolate area last Sunday, only the vehicles were seen as well as an indication of the point of collision. Curious drivers and onlookers slowed down to have a glimpse and formulated assumptions as to what actually took place. The truck was parked on the north-western section of the highway, while the car was hauled and placed on the south eastern side of the thoroughfare, about 150 metres apart. The front right side of the car was badly damaged.

Efforts made by this publication to access details of the accident from the ‘B’ Division Police Traffic Department proved futile.
