GUYANA Fashion Week (GFW) will be publishing an Online magazine for their first fashion week and 6th edition of the event.

The cover photo for the GFW magazine was shot by Mark Jacobs, winner of the GFW/ Natural Resources and Environment Ministry Water Week photography competition.

The shoot featured the amazing work of the winner of Designer Portfolio 2012, Andy Cummings, with Richard Young styling the models; along with the winners of Guyana Model Search (GMS) 2012, Tyrone Hamid (winner of GMS) Amanda Henry (second runner-up GMS), Tina Garraway (first runner-up, plus size GMS), Akeisha Joseph (second runner-up, plus size GMS).

“I am overly excited to be on the cover of GFW magazine. This is a dream come true for any young designer,” Andy Cummings said.

“We have done a lot over the years with GFW and Guyana Model Search/Designers Portfolio, and we would like to market that growth and showcase Guyana as a fashion tourism destination,” Sonia Noel said, adding hat there will be a heavy marketing campaign for this online publication, and it will be great for advertisers because the mileage would be amazing.

Tickets are on sale at Kings Jewellery, Nigel’s Supermarket, Sonia Noel Designs and the cast of GFW.

The GFW camp is currently preparing for a showcase and the annual Deaf Expression event at the National Cultural Centre, and the Lion’s Club Brunch today.
