Biker dies after colliding with minibus door and falling in path of oncoming car

FIFTY-EIGHT-year-old Carl Abrams Wright of Lot 71 Bagotville, West Bank Demerara was killed at about 19:15 hrs on Thursday, September 26, in a collision involving his motor cycle, CF290, minibus BDD 1690 and motor car PMM 1009.

As per investigations, Wright was proceeding north along the Stanleytown Public Road, WBD when, as he was about to pass the parked BDD 1690, the driver Byron Sampson opened the right side door, causing Wright to collide with same and fall in the path of motor car PMM 1009, being driven by Nicholas Lopes and proceeding in the opposite direction.
 
Wright was picked up in an unconscious condition and rushed to the West Demerara Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
 
The vehicle drivers are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
