QUINCY Nichols (no address given) was refused bail on a robbery under arms charge yesterday.
Before Magistrate Judy Latchman, the defendant pleaded not guilty to having, on September 19 in Freeman Street, North East La Penitence, Georgetown, accompanied by another man, he robbed Timothy Marshall of a gold chain, a Blackberry phone and a pedal cycle, all worth $73,000.
Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunt, prosecuting, said it happened about 18:00 hrs, as Marshall was sitting under a shed taking some fresh air.
The prosecutor said Nichols cornered the virtual complainant and his accomplice brandished a knife in a hostile manner, forcing the victim to empty his pants pockets and give up his phone.
His chain was then snatched from him and the duo escaped with his pedal cycle.
The case was postponed to October 11.
