THE announcement that the sea defence project along the lower East Coast Demerara has been completed was noted in the press. However, on observing the finished nature of the works carried out does not convey confidence to many citizens who have taken a close-up examination of what is intended to be a lasting sea defence.
Perhaps the authority responsible for the construction of the project should confirm that the construction was done in accordance with professional specifications and was satisfactorily completed, in order to assure the doubting citizens who reside in close proximity to the reconstructed sections of the sea defence.
