TERRY Phillips, 22, a vendor, of Lot 6 Tucville, was remanded to prison yesterday, by Magistrate Judy Latchman, on charges of unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offences, which said, on Monday, September 16, on Avenue of the Republic, also in Georgetown, he had a revolver and three live rounds without being the holder of licences for them.
Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunt, prosecuting, successfully objected to bail for the defendant on the grounds that he did not provide any special reason for the grant.
Phillips said he was in a motor car about to leave for Tucville when police arrived and carried out searches on the persons in the vehicle but the ranks did not find anything on him.
But they found the things alongside the car and claimed they belonged to him, he protested.
The trial will commence on October 4.
