Kam Boat Restaurant robbery accused refused bail

HANDEL Anthony Ford (no address given) was refused bail yesterday, when he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, on two robbery under arms charges.

It is alleged that the North West District labourer, on Monday, September 16 in Georgetown, being together with another and armed with a gun, robbed Nerissa Hinckson of $100,000 and Stacey Benn of $20,320, property of Sarah Loo.
Police Sergeant Ramsahoye Rambajue, prosecuting, told the court that Benn is a cashier at Kam Boat Restaurant on Sherriff Street and, around 22:15 hrs, when Hinckson and others entered the restaurant to order food, the accused and a male accomplice brandished a gun and demanded that the persons inside hand over their valuables.
The prosecutor successfully objected to the grant of pre-trial liberty for Ford, citing the prevalence of the crime and that a gun was used in the execution of it.
The claimed father of six will return to court on October 3.
