SHANEEZA Mohamed, 28, of 211 Second Field, Cummings Lodge, was up to press time last night in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital after she was attacked and stabbed by her reputed husband, Anthony Samaroo.

The Guyana Chronicle was informed that the woman and the man had an argument and she decided that she was taking her children and moving to her mother’s place in West Ruimveldt. She then went to take a bath and when she was in her bedroom putting on her clothing, the man entered the bedroom and began stabbing her in the region of the chest with a knife.
It was reported to this publication that the woman and the man has been living together for some 14 years and have three children together. They have been residing at the Cummings Lodge address for some four years now.
Last evening, one of the woman’s sisters told this newspaper that for the 14 years the woman and the man have been living together, she had been subjected to constant abuse.
The man reportedly stabbed the woman because she told him that the blows for 14 years were too much, and she was not willing to put up with it any longer.
The children, aged ten, eight and six, were in the house when their mother was attacked by the man and the smallest one of the three ran outside and told the landlord that the man was attacking their mother.
The woman then came out of the bedroom and lay in the living room of the house, covered with blood. She was picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was immediately given medical attention.
The man, Anthony Samaroo, is said to have gone into hiding.
