Simone Benjamin, 39, of 2946 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, asked for forgiveness and offered to repay the damage she had done, after pleading guilty to the allegation that on Monday, July 15, at Main Street, Georgetown, she unlawfully assaulted Alana Glasgow, and used abusive language towards the woman whereby a breach of the peace may be occasioned.
Sergeant Vishnu Hunt, prosecuting, told the court that on the day in question, the single mother of five sons, being at GPL on Main Street, abused the GPL security guard (Alana Glasgow) and threw some liquid on her. The matter was reported and the defendant was subsequently arrested and charged.
“Well, I just asking for forgiveness. If I have to buy back her clothes, I will pay her for the damage,” the defendant told the court after the magistrate inquired if she had anything to say.
The virtual complainant then accepted the defendant’s offer and asked for $15,000 as payment for the damage done, whereupon, the money was counted and handed over to her.
Before the matter was dismissed, the magistrate gave the defendant a stern warning about her behaviour.
