GPF 2013 annual youth camp on Essequibo Coast

THE annual youth camp hosted by the Guyana Police Force (GPF) in collaboration with the Guyana Police Wives’ Association, will take place between August 5 and 10 at Pomona Secondary School, on the Essequibo Coast. The 200 participants between the ages of seven and twelve years, selected from among youths involved in the GPF youth clubs and scout groups, will be participating in the much anticipated event themed ‘Youths, Leading our Nation’.
The exercise will be managed by Assistant Commissioner Carol Lewis-Primo, assisted by a number of other Police ranks, members of the Police Wives’ Association and civilians who have volunteered their services.
During the camping period, the campers will be involved in craft work, educational talks, road safety, religious teaching, information technology, games and an exhibition to showcase the skills learnt, among other activities.
The inaugural Police Youth Camp was held at Camp Soweyo, along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway, in 1991 and  venue for last year’s was the Rosignol Primary School, West Coast Berbice.
