THE police are looking for a man who chopped his two children to death and seriously wounded his wife.The man, whose name was given as Richard, is reportedly in hiding, while his two children were lying dead last evening at their Zeelugt home, and their mother was critically ill at the Georgetown Public Hospital, where doctors were trying to save her arm. Dead are Kimberley Houston, five and her brother Tarif, two. The two were chopped to death by their father who has been in a common-law relationship with their mother, Bibi Houston, for the past seven years.
The incident occurred at 867 Brother Dam Squatting area, Zeelugt, East Bank Essequibo.
The man, after he committed the act, went into hiding and has not yet been located by the police. The incident occurred just after 17:00hrs yesterday.
When this publication visited the home of the family last evening, the relatives of the dead children and now hospitalised woman were gathered in shock in the home of the children’s grandmother.
This newspaper was told by the sister of the now hospitalised woman that it all started when her sister decided on Friday last to remove from the home she shared with the man since they were having some problems.
However the woman later returned and they began arguing and fighting in the house in the presence of the children.
The woman’s sister added that the five year old then came and informed her that she should call the police since her father said that he was going to “kill all ah we”
Later, when the woman entered the home, she saw the children lying next to their mother and they were all covered with blood.
The mother seemed to be in an unconscious state and the children appeared to be dead.

The police confirmed that the children were pronounced dead on arrival when they were rushed to the Leonora Cottage Hospital.
