Barbadian here to promote his ‘Painting from the Heart’ book

JEREMY Davis, a writer from Barbados, is at present in Guyana promoting his new book titled; “Painting from the Heart”, which features an “I-man” (a Rasta) as the main character. The book tells us about an “I-man”, a travelled and cultured Barbadian Rasta who seems to have everything but is unsatisfied. This book takes the reader through a portion of his life and subsequent migration from Barbados to the UK.

The story moves from depression to sadness to disappointment to glorious triumph and joy in a rollercoaster of emotions.

“Painting from the Heart” reminds us of what is truly important in life, and it cautions us not to take things such as love and life for granted.

Jermey noted while speaking with the Guyana Chronicle that he will be launching his book on a global scale, but for now he will be travelling to various countries in the Region to promote the book.

In his three weeks here he will be conducting various interviews, visiting bookstores to talk to readers about his new book and going around the country to enlighten more Guyanese about it.

“Davis’ conversational writing style is effective in advancing the plot. Apart from the overriding theme of conflict between the individual and society, Davis wrestles with universal issues like understanding women and the psyche of the Caribbean man.”

The Trinidad Guardian noted that Jeremy Davis is a socially conscious writer and explorer, but he also works as a marketing and creative consultant when called upon.

Jeremy also enjoys teaching and working with young people. He has taught and  hosted youth writing workshops on “The Art of Passionate Public Speaking” and “Developing a Plot”, among other themes and topics. He
has consulted with businesses on the subject: “How to improve my marketability using creative content and social media”.
