Guyana to host 44th AGM of CBU : -President Ramotar to deliver feature address

THE 44th annual general meeting of the Caribbean Broadcast Union (CBU) would be hosted by Guyana from August 19-21, and the National Communications Network (NCN) has assumed responsibility for chairing the local organising committee. Secretary to the Cabinet, Dr. Roger Luncheon made the announcement yesterday at his post-Cabinet press briefing at the Office of the President, in Georgetown.
According to him, the event would see President Donald Ramotar delivering the feature address, and participants would deliberate on broadcasting and other elements of the sector, both in CARICOM and specifically in Guyana.
The CBU was formed in 1970 with a view to stimulating the flow of broadcast material among the Radio and Television systems in the Caribbean region.
It is the only Pan-Caribbean medium, reaching over 4.8 million people in the Caribbean and millions of others extra-regionally functioning in both an advocacy and representation role.
