TWENTY-two-year-old Shazam Outar, of Lot 49 Plantation Warren, East Coast Berbice, was not required to plead to a charge of rape allegedly committed on an ex-girlfriend.

In the New Amsterdam Court, Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs Marcus ordered that he post $75,000 bail, and that he should not approach within 25 feet of the alleged victim. Moreover, he must report to the Lewis Manor Police Outpost each Friday at 18:00hrs until the case has been determined.
Particulars of the offence are that, on April 15, 2013 at Plantation Warren, he engaged in sexual penetration with the nineteen-year-old woman.
The case is fixed for August 12.
