THE Promenade Gardens was yesterday a kaleidoscope of glitz and colour as scores of little angels and princesses invaded the location in costumes of varying imaginations for a “Princess Tea Party”.
Besides angelic little fairies, there were the magical story book characters such as Snow White, Cinderella and Ariel, among others there.
Event promoter Ms. Nadine Hing told the Chronicle the “Princess Tea Party” is a smashing family event “with the little angels in mind,” and is definitely an opportunity for them to live out the fairy-tale in them, inspired by the books they read and the television programmes they adore.
She said it would be a change for our little girls to dress up and be treated royally through a variety of activities such as a beauty parlours, storytelling, a princess fashion show, ballet dancing, manners and etiquette training, and so much more. It is also an opportunity for mothers and fathers, and even brothers, to see their daughters or their sisters in full glory, and to enjoy the event for what it is at the core – spending time with the family. Also speaking with the Guyana Chronicle was Mr Compton Bobb, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Giftland OfficeMax, co-sponsor of the event. He noted that it was the first time the company had been approached with a request to sponsor such an event, and thus they were intrigued and happy to be a part of such an event. He assured that if the organizers plan to make this an annual event, they have the support of Giftland OfficeMax.
The event saw families bringing their daughters to be treated like princesses and to interact and take pictures with their favourite princess cartoon characters.Other sponsors of the event included Brewster’s Ice Cream, Imperia Tea, More Juice, Bon Bon Boom Lollipop, Choco Listo, Xie Xie Restaurant, and Mister Potato Chip.
