THE People’s Progressive Party has extended Ramadan greetings to all Guyanese, particularly the Muslim community.

Ramadan is a time where an individual makes great sacrifice and is the most important month of the Muslim calendar, the PPP said in a statement yesterday.
It noted that this month helps to determine one’s value as a human being in depriving the body of basic necessities to achieve spiritual purification and illustrates the virtues of self-discipline, fairness and care for the less privileged.
“It is a time for deep introspection and self-examination; universal values which all Guyanese can identify with,” the PPP stated.
“During this period, we encourage the Muslim community to offer special prayers for greater peace, security, unity and continued socio-economic development in our country for the benefit of all our people,” the party added.
